We decided to make oobleck too. I was somewhat disillustional and thought that the oobleck would not be too messy.
Clean up tip for oobleck: Don't try to wipe up with a wet sponge when oobleck is wet. It just moves around. If you wait till it dries, you can scrap it up.
Better clean up tip: Put newspaper down when making oobleck and throw it away when done.
Best clean up tip: Make it outside and simply hose down area when down.
If you want to have some messy fun yourself, here is the recipe I used:4 cups of water in a large bowl. Add several drops of green food coloring. Mix 4 boxes of cornstarch (16 oz each) with your hands. Add 2 cups of water to mix thoroughly. I probably used a little more water to make it movable.

Join the year long challenge of getting yourself in the photo at Diary of a Church Lady. You won't regret it. This is 50/52 for me.
Go to Simply Modern Mom to share photos of what motherhood is like each week. This is 8/52 for me.

Oh my this does sound quite messy...but I bet the kids just loved making it! Great pics!
Oobleck is so much fun :-) I made it once with my daughter, and she asked me why it was called "oobleck". I showed her how, depending on what you're doing with it, you might say, "Oooooooooh!" or you might say, "Blechhhhhhh!"
Oooo this is so cute & fun lookin! I bet your kids loved it!!!
We made that when I was in middle school and we thought it was the coolest thing.

How fun! My daughter will get a huge kick out of this!
I think going outside with this concoction is definitely the way to go :D love your hats!
This reminds me of "space mud" I used to make with my kids, only you use Elmer's glue and Borax. It was a mess, but my kids LOVED it!
Great photos celebrating Dr. Suess Day!
Hi! tnx for your lovely comment on my shoot me, post. I am already a follower, it wold be nice if you could follow mine as well...
have a nice day!
I haven't read this one in many years so have forgotten it.
What a mess!! But tons of fun.
It was Dr. Seuss week at school and I'm absolutely terrified of that cat. I'm also upset because I totally have the skills to write those books. No fair. Cute pics thought!
looks like you two were having a lot of fun despite the mess. We celebrated Dr. Seuss' Birthday as well. My daughter's school had a birthday party with cake and activites. Each child received a brand new book, too. It was really fun for the kids.
What a great fun idea!!!
So fun! My kids love the oobleck too. I am sad I forgot to get out out Cat in the Hat hat on Dr. Seuss' birthday. Need to go dig through dress up stuff and find it. :)
oh i can imagine how messy it can be but the fun the kids can be having is worth the cleaning up.
haven't tried this ever.

Despite the mess it looks like y'all had fun.
Ooh boy, that mess is enough to give me a panic attack!
While the kids were staying with my in-laws last week, Grandpa made them green eggs and ham for Dr. Seuss's birthday.
