Summer Memories

 I downloaded photos from my water proof camera over the weekend. It was great going back and seeing all the great memories we made this summer.

No Longer a Warrior Virgin

 My friend, R., talked me into doing my first Warrior Dash this weekend.  I made us shirts.

Luckily, there were firemen at the end of the race who helped us "shower" with the fire hoses. I thought the needing help in the shower was a joke but I was so sore the next day that I could have really used some help.

My after the race shot! The race was lots of fun and a little scary.  I climbed lots of walls, walked over cars, crawled in the mud, and jumped fire.

If you have the chance to run/walk a Warrior Dash, you should give it a try. It is lots of fun. Something everyone should try once.

Divine

 Just looks like vines growing up the wall, right?

 Meet Divine. She is a stilt walking performer in Disney World.  DiVine can typically be found near the pathway between Africa and Asia inside the Animal Kingdom. If you are not looking for her, you may not see her.

 

 Spotting Divine when we are in Animal Kingdom makes me happy. Win a Disney Trip!

I love Disney World. When I heard Body Logic MD was giving away a trip for 4 , I knew I had to enter.  Grand Prize winner will receive a 3 day, 2 night stay at any moderate or deluxe Disney sponsored hotel. I immediately started planning the trip in my head. With only 3 days in Disney, I would go to the Magic Kingdom the first day.  It is the kids' and my favorite park.

 Caitlin loves Splash Mountain, but I'm not sure I can get Davey on it again. That is Davey hiding under my arm.

We would definitely go on a Jungle Cruise.

The middle day I would go to Hollywood Studios.  We need to see if we can break our record of riding Star Tours 7 times in one day.

Maybe we will even have time to defeat Darth Vader again!

The last day I think we would return to the Magic Kingdom and ride all our favorite rides again and meet some favorite characters too.

 Most of all, we would all get to be kids again!

Big Brother Date

Dave and I have a guilty pleasure. We love the tv show Big Brother.  We started watching the show the first summer we had Caitlin. Before the kids, we were always too busy to watch the show.  Now we watch every episode. Honestly, I probably wouldn't watch it during the regular tv season but during the summer, it is the best thing on.  Love all the whispering and plotting.

 To make the night more fun, we went onto Buddytv.com to play some Big Brother trivia games and personality tests. My test results were that I am most like Kaysar. Not a bad thing.

 Dave's results were that he is most like Nakomis. (I didn't get a screen shot of the description. Whoops.) One of the things in her description was something like you like to be different physically. That cracked us up. Dave is not very different physically. He was hoping his personality profile was one of his favorites like Mike Boogey or Dr. Will. I guess he is just not ruthless enough.

It was a fun date indulging in one of our guilty pleasures. This is date 7 out of 52 for us.

Sunflowers = Happiness

 Sunflowers always make me happy. In fact I call them the "happy flowers." This year I grew my own.  I've tried before but they would always get eaten. I thought it was the deer or rabbits but after researching, I discovered that it was actually the birds.  The birds will eat the sunflower leaves when they are little/just sprouted.  I put nets over them this year and they finally thrived.

Survey Date

 We completed the Dating Divas's Love Quest Survey for our date this week.  It was a fun and easy date.  We answered questions about our favorite things.  We tried to guess each others answers and then shared.  We know each other pretty well after 17 years but we still have fun and learn new things like Dave thinks his ring size is "awesome."  I think he is pretty awesome anyway.

This is date 6 out of 52 for us.

Best Cupcake Shop in Boston

Dave and I decided to find the best cupcake place in Boston. We wanted to take this tour but it was all booked up. So we created our own. Our first stop was Georgetown Cupcake.  It wasn't even on my list but we walked by it.  There seems to always be a line out the door.

So many good flavors to choose from!

We tried the coconut flavor and the chocolate peanut butter flavor.  Both were moist and rich. Excellent!

The next day, we resumed our search. Our first stop was the Thinking Cup Coffee Bar.

We got 2 mini cupcakes. We didn't want to get full too quickly since we had more shops to visit. We got red velvet and vanilla.  They were both delicious but not as good at Georgetown's.

Next we went to Isabelle's Curlycakes.

We walked to the Boston Gardens to eat our cupcakes. We got carried away and started to eat them before I took photos of them.  We tried a strawberry cupcake and a Boston creme cupcake.  Both were delicious and rich.  I loved the real strawberries in the strawberry flavor.  They were good but still second to Georgetown at this point.

Next we headed to Finale.

 They only had chocolate and vanilla cupcakes.  Not much a choice.  We were stuffed at this point. We decided to pack the cupcakes up and take them home to try later.

They were good cupcakes but no Georgetown's.  The lack of selection was disappointing too.

Our final stop was Sweet Cupcakes.

I love the cupcake carousel. Sweet Cupcakes had a great selection.  It was hard to only pick a few. We got pink lemonade, peach cobbler, blueberry, and honey lemon. We took these home to share with the kids as well.

We cut all the cupcakes into 4 so we could all try each.  Caitlin  made one multi cupcake.

Sweet Cupcakes were delicious.  My favorite was the pink lemonade.  It was just amazing.  It put Sweet Cupcakes into the #1 spot for me.  Dave still thinks that Georgetown's was the best. I personally think you can't go wrong with any of these places. Only Georgetown's and Sweet are just cupcake shops. They both had excellent selections.  They rest do lots of other foods.
